They/Them

Em is a native New Yorker, mental health researcher, and social work psychotherapist focused on serving LGBTQ populations. In their practice, Em uses what’s known as eclectic psychotherapy to collaboratively develop and implement unique treatment plans with the client’s goals, feedback, and lived experience centered every step of the way. They often use interventions based in psychodynamic theory, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), person-centered therapy, and trauma-informed affirmative care, with an emphasis on mindfulness techniques and the mind-body connection. Em’s approach is additionally infused with the strengths-based perspective, cultural humility, critical race theory, and anti-capitalism. They are passionate about incorporating sociopolitical contexts and social justice values into the therapeutic work at every turn.

Em is enthusiastic about working with folks from all walks of life. Their clinical areas of focus include: transgender and gender expansive identities and experiences; disability and chronic illness; post-traumatic stress, relational trauma, and medical trauma; substance misuse and harm reduction; depression, anxiety, and mood disorders; neurodivergence and adults living with autism and/or ADHD.
