Individual, couples, and group therapy
Whether you are seeking individual, couples, or group therapy services, you can be sure of finding the right fit with your therapist. Our diverse group of clinicians is trained in a wide variety of therapeutic modalities, including psychodynamic perspectives, cognitive behavioral therapies, relational methods, existential/humanistic approaches, integrative treatment models, and other strengths-based psychotherapy modalities.
Individual therapy
No two people are the same. Individual therapy is a private, confidential space centered on you and your individualized treatment plan. You can build skills to cope with the unique stressors in your life, gain a better understanding of yourself and your problems, address challenges in your past or present, and work toward reaching your self-determined goals.
Couples therapy
Every relationship faces challenges. Couples therapy helps people in a variety of relationship styles to communicate their feelings, ask for what they need, care for themselves and others, and negotiate differences. Your therapist will support each partner in helping you develop empathic communication, decrease judgment and blame, and promote healthy, interpersonal skills to increase connection in your relationship.
Group therapy
Relating to others promotes a sense of belonging and connection. Group therapy offers a professional therapeutic environment where people work together in a small group to help themselves and one another. Led by an experienced therapist, group therapy can augment your individual therapy or serve as a supportive resource to learn to relate to others, cope with systemic oppression, connect to community, and work through interpersonal challenges. IHI offers a variety of group therapy options to meet the diverse needs of LGBTQ+-identified people.
Screening is required for all groups to ensure appropriate care and goodness of fit for prospective members. Weekly attendance is expected. If you are interested in learning more, please contact us or complete our appointment form.

A therapeutic space for queer and transgender Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (QTBIPOC) to process their experiences. Navigating life at the intersection of multiple identities—especially those that are historically marginalized—can be challenging and even traumatic, yet can also bring deep strength, connection, and joy. In what ways do our identities bring meaning and pride into our lives and our sense of self? In what ways are we needing to heal? This group aims to provide support, share coping skills, build safe and affirming community, and foster individual and collective strength and resiliency. Facilitated by IHI Advanced Clinical Intern Aramis Grant.
