Jon Prezant, LMSW
Staff Therapist
He/Him
Jon is a licensed social worker who approaches psychotherapy through an existential lens, helping clients explore life's fundamental questions of meaning, purpose, and authentic connection. His therapeutic framework integrates sex therapy and trauma-informed care while remaining grounded in the human search for significance and genuine relationships. Through a deeply collaborative and challenging therapeutic relationship, Jon creates a space where clients can discover their full uniqueness, dignity, and humanity. Drawing from advanced training in schema therapy and emotionally focused therapy (EFT), he helps both individuals and couples engage in meaningful self-exploration and relational growth.
As a clinician, Jon has extensive experience working with refugees and asylum seekers, sexual assault survivors, couples and poly relationships, and LGBTQ+ individuals. He specializes in helping clients explore deep-seated questions of identity and meaning while addressing challenges with depression, anxiety, shame, gender and sexual identity concerns, sexual functioning, sexual desire, and self-esteem. The therapeutic relationship serves as a catalyst for profound personal growth and self-discovery.
As a prospective sex therapist, Jon brings depth and nuance to his work with human sexuality, supporting various sexually and erotically-marginalized populations, ethical non-monogamy and polyamorous relationships, sex workers, and individuals dealing with sexual functioning and dysfunctioning. His existential approach helps clients integrate their sexual and relational experiences into a more authentic and meaningful life narrative.
Jon received his B.A. in Journalism from the University of Maryland, followed by an M.A. in Trauma and Crisis Studies from Tel Aviv University and his M.S.W. from the Wurzweiler School of Social Work. He is currently pursuing his Certification in Sex Therapy (CST) at an AASECT-certified training program. Beyond his clinical work, Jon is a musician and songwriter, incorporating the creative and expressive elements of arts into his therapeutic practice to help clients discover and articulate their authentic selves.
